His recent works focus on advance safety assessment and training applications for drivers. He is an appointed member of the National Research Council’s Transportation Research Board Committee on Operator Education and Regulation and Committee on Simulation and Measurement of Vehicle and Operator Performance. Over the last twenty years Doug has led pioneering developments in design, modeling and visual simulation applications in architecture, urban planning, entertainment, mechanical engineering, transportation systems engineering and vehicle operator safety applications. He was an industry leader in the development of high-fidelity roadway and interactive traffic simulation models. Doug has held technical positions with the Engineering Computer Graphics Laboratory and the Civil Engineering Department of Brigham Young University, Suter & Suter AG of Basel, Switzerland (largest architectural firm in continental Europe at the time), the National Science Foundation Center for Computer Aided Design at the University of Iowa, as a Research Fellow of MultiGen, Inc. of San Jose, CA and as a private consultant in the simulation industry prior to co-founding Hyperion Technologies in 1995. Steven Hallmark, Chief Operations Officer
Steven has 25 years of experience in the simulation industry, including 17 years at Evans & Sutherland Computer Corporation. He joined Jason Associates in 2000 as Director of Programs and became Vice President of Operations in early 2001. DriveSafety was spun off in 2002 to focus on driving simulation and in May 2003 he was appointed Chief Operating Officer for the company. His current responsibilities include purchasing, manufacturing and production, accounting, and human resources, all responsibilities that showcase his strengths in program management, cost management, process control, and implementation. During his tenure at Evans & Sutherland (E&S), Steven spent his early years as a software engineer developing visual databases for flight simulation and then changed roles to write and support graphical editing software tools used in visual database development. He subsequently managed an engineering team of twenty-five engineers servicing multiple commercial and military contracts. Later he moved to the programs office as program manager; his first assignment was to lead a proposal team supporting five prime contractor bid teams for an Army National Guard program, which E&S subsequently won. During that period he managed over $20 million in programs for the U.S. Army National Guard and U.S. Army aviation and ground programs. He was promoted to Director of Army Ground Systems Marketing worldwide and managed a small team of marketing managers and consultants with sales of nearly $60 million in 1999. Steve holds a BS degree in Design Engineering Technology from Brigham Young University.
